The Dr. cared for my guinea pig for a couple of years. He underwent surgery to remove a bladder stone two years back and made a full recovery. The staff was very kind to the pig while he was in their care, they gave him plenty of attention and healthy snacks. I was allowed to stop by any time they were open to visit him while he was recovering from his surgery. The pig unfortunately passed away last summer due to old age at which point my husband rushed to the vet while I was still at work to have the guinea pig cremated. Not only did the vet cremate the pig at a reasonable price, but they also expressed their deepest sympathies by sending along a very nice poem and a concrete mold of the guinea pigs paw print that they took before cremation. I was very pleased with the service all around. Would definitely go back to this vet if I ever owned another pet.
I absolutely love taking my parrots to Best Friend's because they are wonderful with my birds. Dr. Hollifield is an expert in avian veterinary care, and she makes my birds feel at ease with her soothing voice and gentle manner. Everyone on staff has a warm and lovely way of 'greeting and treating' both pets and owner. They also have a 'bird room' for boarding the birds when I have to be out of town, and when I pick them up, my birds are fine and relaxed. I trust them completely, and only wish I had had them when I still had my dogs.
Our second pet - a dog - was still in her care as he was very healthy and checkups were a breeze. However, when he needed vet care due to a severe infection, doc was unavailable. The meds she prescribed were not working and as he got sicker/sicker and I attempted to reach her over several days all the while describing the dire condition of our dog to her techs (as I said I could only reach her techs / couldn't even make an appt because she was TOO BUSY for a pet that had been in her care for years and was literally dying!). All I was told was I needed to be patient. Our dog would not be alive if we hadn't gone elsewhere!
I will not recommend this vet practice to anyone I know. Two pets were in her care - the first - a guinea pig - was misdiagnosed and almost died until we went to another vet and received the proper diagnosis. We switched vets for the guinea pig immediately following.
I love Best Friend's Veterinary Hospital cause they helped my family with a bearded dragon that we got for Christmas he was sick so we kept taking him there they did everything they could and helped him last longer but eventually died 1 year later and cremated him and gave us a really nice letter to my family and in memory of his paw print. Even though he died i still thank everyone that works there! Thank you Sabrina.
On one of the worst days of my life, the team at Best Friends worked tirelessly and compassionately to get answers. My sweet girl did not survive, but I know she passed in very loving hands, and her passing was handled with the utmost sensitivity and professionalism. I have nothing but positive regard for Dr. Hollifield, Sabrina, and the rest of the team at Best Friends!
