We found ICare K9 by chance. We were looking for a specific type of training for our 13 week old Doberman.Odin is our 3rd doberman. I had been working with him and it was going okay but I knew that I need more knowledge my self so I would not set off in the wrong direction with his training. I was requested to bring Odin down and had a talk with Morris. I enrolled Odin (my self) in the puppy class and Odin loved it He looked forwarded to it on Sat. mornings. then we enrolled in the Intermediate class. we look forward to more training at ICare K9. My wife is 110 lbs and has no problem walking Odin, and at 11 months old he weighed 95 lbs. It is an outstanding team at ICare K9 and I would recommend all of the services of ICare K9.
For those of you worried about leaving your dog for 2 weeks in a strange place, fear not! We had elevated levels of anxiety about boarding our dog for the first time. After two weeks was up, our puppy returned to us as the same fun loving, happy dog. The only difference was that she was obedient and had mastered many new skills.
Fortunate to have a husky that actually listens to us, thanks to this amazing company but owners have to put in the work too! Don't expect miracles if yo don't give any effort!
Love this place, the staff is amazing, knowledgeable and supportive. It's a one stop shop for all your training and boarding needs.
We plan to continue to work with Amanda and Morris for the next few months during their group classes. We highly recommend iCare K9 to those out there needing a little guidance in how to properly train your dog.
iCare K9 has helped us begin the process of professionally (and correctly!) training our 1.5 year old Yorkshire Terrier. Morris and Amanda are seasoned veterans which is evident from your first conversation with them.
Six months after losing our 16 year old shepherd mix we decided it was time to add a new member to our family. Our golden retriever is 10 years old so we decided we wanted to adopt an adult dog. We fell in love with Harley at first sight but unfortunately she came with some baggage. She had been in a kennel for over a year and she had been returned twice due to some of her behavioral issues. She had some issues with other dogs, cars and also with strangers, in other words, she simply didn't know how to conduct yourself in an appropriate manner. We have been lifelong dog owners but these were issues we were not used to dealing with. Due to her history of being returned, the rescue organization wanted us to "foster to adopt" Harley giving us as much time as we needed to decide if keeping Harley was the best thing for us and her. We put Harley into obedience training as soon as we brought her home. Because we didn't know much about her background, we decided to go with positive training. While we learned that Harley was exceedingly intelligent, learning commands in record time, the training did little to help with her bad behaviors. After having Harley for 3 months, however, we and the rest of our families had fallen in love with her and now just had to figure out how to address her behavioral issues. We knew she had the potential to be an amazing dog we just needed help bringing that out of her. We went in search of a new training facility and discovered iCare K9. Due to Harley's issues, the trainer suggested doing a few private lessons prior to putting Harley in an obedience class. We started working with Amanda and I cannot tell you how amazing the results were! Amanda worked around Harley's physical issues (she has a collapsed trachea which prohibits her from having any pressure put on her neck) and took the time to discover what types of training worked best for Harley (though honesty it didn't take long, she seemed to almost know exactly what would work and it did). The results were miraculous! After every one on one session, Harley came out a more well-behaved confident dog! She became much easier to handle on walks, she got along better with our other dog and she became much easier to introduce to new people. Amanda not only trained Harley but she trained us on how to react when Harley exhibited an inappropriate behavior. It is because of Amanda that we can proudly say that we have officially adopted Harley! We just recently began group obedience class and continue to see improvements in Harley's behavior. We know it's going to be a long road but with the help of the trainers at iCare K9 we know that Harley is on her way to being that amazing dog we know she can be!
