And I wouldn't be surprised if he's a Trump supporter.
The Winter Lights is just a fun event to drive at night to see the light decoration in the park. We did notice a few additions this year, which is great as well as seeing the year after year standards; the castle, the twirling gingerbread, teddy bearland and the light tunnels. The best time to go is during the weekdays, it's a few dollars cheaper and since it's more sparse you can really slow down and take your time. My only recommendation would be that ALL cars were required to drop down to parking lights. Headlights in your mirrors or coming at you really take away from the beauty of the decorative lights.
Beautiful park. The kids love the tire playground which was big and creative.
Quiet, beautiful.park has got plenty of parking spots, trails, picnic areas, kids play areas, rest rooms.Seneca is very good for casual evening walks, fall colors, kayaking in summers and christmas winter lights. park entrance is 3$ per person during weekends, entrance is free during week days.renting kayaks is cheaper compared to other locations, even winter lights price is reasonable 15-17$per vehicle
Edit:
And here we go again, in November 2016, the Park Ranger supposedly decided to block off another useful path (uploaded pictures) with logs and branches that's been around since summer 2011 (5 years!) with nobody complaining until all of a sudden? Wow, just wow. They sure love making up excuses.
The Park Rangers are mean and rude. So here's what happened, on Sunday, October 2, 2016, a Park Ranger (this middle aged White man with a big puffy brown beard, supposely the park manager) decided to close a trail path that was made back in early June 2016 by random hikers. And did so again on October 4, 2016. The Park Ranger supposedly decided that after 3 months to finally close a shortcut trail path. It was a very useful trail shortcut, which a few dozen hikers used in a good week or two! I asked the Park Ranger why he did so and he kept making up excuses and he didn't have the nerve to look at me eye-to-eye like a real man rather had his black sunglasses on (since he knows he's wrong) saying, "The Maryland Department of Environment says it's not OK to be having a trail path that isn't safe..." even though there are even worst trails in the park, especially the Lake Shore trail path closest to the main entrance, it's horrible with no maintenance whatsoever! The path had been there 3 months prior with nobody complaining until now and was also safe to walk through until he aledgely went as far as to break off branches from innocent trees and spill the said branches all over the ground, blocking the shortcut trail, and then made a cheap $5 sign from his mediocre salary with a cheap laminated paper on it (check my uploaded pictures) in order to make hikers avoid a once perfectly fine shortcut trail. And supposely said it's not safe anymore? Even though it was prior to what he did! If anything, this Park Ranger definitely broke the law and blamed his inconsistencies on others. Thanks to this Park Ranger, he made me lose faith in the park's authorizes. He should be either fired or demoted immediately.
A place to spend the day with no worries. Very pleasant.
