Following major surgery I elected to use this Target Pharmacy to fill my prescriptions, one of which was a painkiller. When I dropped the prescription off they told me that they did not have it, but would put an order in and I would be able to pick it up the next day. The pain was significant enough that I was at times in tears (and I rarely cry), but I thought that I can just make sure I do as little to worsen it and just deal. Later that day I received a phone call stating that they (for some reason) could not put the order in for two more days and that it would hopefully arrive the following day.
Seriously: shame on me for going here.
Awful service
Three days pass and I had not received the typical text alerting me to the prescription being available for pick up by the third day, so I called and they said it just didn't show up in the order they placed. I asked for further explanation and they said 1) it was hard to tell because their internet had been down for half the day and 2) they can't (generally) check online if they can fill a prescription, so they just place the order and hope it comes. I was told that they had another place to make the order and that it would arrive sometime the following week. Maybe.
...And it appears to be happening again for a different prescription that I tried to fill there. I'm about to go call them to see if I can just pick up the prescription and bring it to a different pharmacy. Still, I can't be upset with them about this. Shame on me for going back.
While my situation felt serious, it was just painkillers and not, say, a life- or health-preserving medication. These are just two experiences I've had (out of ~5), but it's kind of one of those things where shoddy work can have catastrophic results and when I consider the 10/10 experiences I've had with other places around here (Giant, Harris Teeter), Target really earns its 1 star.
Carissa is such an amazing person. She helped me from the second I called and the second I picked up my medicine. She saved me a lot of time and phone calls. I can never be more grateful for coming here. Thank you Carissa!
Shoutout to Carissa, Stephanie, and Adrian for being super helpful and going above and beyond to make sure that my prescriptions could get filled. There've been a number of occasions where my insurance and my doctor weren't on the same page, and I've had difficulties in the past with other pharmacies because of it. Here, each of those three pharmacists I mentioned has, at one point or another, waded through the mess of insurance and coordinated amongst insurance, my doctor, and the pharmacy itself to make sure that I could get my meds as soon as possible.
I asked for the prescription back and went across the street to Harris Teeter. The pharmacist looked it up and explained that the particular medicine I was requesting was back-ordered all over and that I should try to get something similar. That took about 3 minutes. Target kept me in the dark and was going to continue to keep me in the dark for 10 days.
The whole pharmaceutical team is lovely and seems to genuinely care about everyone; they know and greet the patients by name, and again, go above and beyond to make sure everyone gets what they need.
